Blue Card Visa

It is strongly recommended to submit a complete set of documents as outlined below. All documents must be recent (not older than one month) and presented as originals together with photocopies. Documents not issued in German, English, Spanish, or French must include a certified translation into one of these languages.

Application Form:

• Printed and signed visa application form (Videx online application form, including the barcode page)
• A separate application form is required for each applicant, including children

Passport:

• Valid original passport signed by the holder
  • Issued within the last 10 years
  • Valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in Germany
  • Must have at least two consecutive blank pages (a blank double page spread)

UK Residency:

• UKVI Immigration/E-Visa and Share Code for “right to work” or “Prove your immigration status”
  – For all non-UK passport holders.

Photographs:

• Two UK passport-sized photos
  • Size: 35 x 45 mm, taken on a white or off-white background (no digital alterations)

Proof of Employment and Qualifications:

• Employer’s declaration (“Erklärung zum Beschäftigungsverhältnis”) completed by your employer
• Original academic degree certificate or equivalent tertiary qualification, along with one copy (certified or notarized)
• Certified translation of your degree, if the original is not in German, English, Spanish, or French
• Print-outs from the official Anabin database or a “Statement of Comparability for Foreign Higher Education Qualifications” issued by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB)
• For IT professionals without a formal qualification: evidence of your full employment history over the last 7 years, including reference letters detailing your responsibilities

Curriculum Vitae:

• An up-to-date academic/professional curriculum vitae

Pre-Approval (If Available):

• A copy of pre-approval by the Federal Employment Agency, if available

Proof of Health Insurance:

• Confirmation of health insurance cover that meets or exceeds the level of statutory German public health insurance
• Documentation must clearly state the applicant’s name and the effective dates of coverage

Accompanying Family Members (if applicable):

• A separate application form for each family member
• Original passport of each family member with one photocopy of the biodata page
• Current UK residence permit/visa for non-British family members (if applicable)
• Two biometric passport photos per family member
• Original or certified copy of the family relationship document (e.g., marriage certificate for spouses or birth certificate for children) with translation if necessary
